    Krieghoff K-80

    Hello All,

I've owned this K-80 since 2012. I've been told that the engraving is Bavaria, Parcour even custom (Fox and Pheasant scene). I have no idea who the artisan engraver was. I have sent pictures to one engraver who responded "he didn't have time to determine who the engraver was, he just knew it was not him".

Sorry about the quality of the photos. All help is appreciated.

    Regards,

As this is a post-WW2 Krieghoff, Ulm, Germany, factory gun with factory engraving, why don't you ask them? Their website:

    Johnnie,
As Axel said, this factory engraving would have likely been done by one of their "in house" engravers. They may or may not have a record of the person or persons that did the engraving on a particular gun. They may have had one engraver do the animals, and a less experienced one do the background and scroll work. Of course, I have no first hand knowledge of Krieghoff's internal procedures.

    Hey Mike and Axel,

I took it to the Grand in IL in 2013. The Krieghoff store there gave it a tune up, when I got it back they said "we don't recognize the engraving as "factory"". But I will ask the company direct.

    Thanks,

    Johnnie

Update: Spoke with Jen at Krieghoff. She says that KI (USA) does not have records that go that far back. She says that KI Germany should have the records on this K-80. She said she has never seen the engraving scenes that are on my shotgun before. She also said that it could take up to 10 weeks to hear back from Germany. That's all I've got for now.

Update: I spoke with Nick from Krieghoff USA today, he asked for more pictures of my K-80. He too says that he has never seen the Fox and the Pheasant scene. Nick says that he will contact "the factory" in Germany personally to see if they have more information on my Trap gun. He said that it wouldn't take 10 weeks to hear back from KI.
