  • Pre War 12ga shell

    Hello Everyone
    Today we found this very old shell in a box of mixed ammunition. I have done my best at translation.

    Waidmannsheil + Good Hunting
    Rostfrei = Stainless
    Rauchloses = Smokeless
    Jagdpulver = Hunting powder
    Vereinigte Koln-Rottweiler-Pulverfabriken = United Cologne Rottweiler Powder Factories
    Koln-Rotweil Aktiengesellschaft = Cologne Rottweil Stock Corporation
    Dating code places production from 1933-1942
    best Regards,
    Tom

    Thomas,
    In "old Hunters language", Waidmannsheil is a hunter's greeting but is also used for congratulations, Rostfrei in this sense means non-corrosive. The rest seems correct.

          "Die schwarze Waidmannsheil" is a classic among German hunters, still in use today.
          Here the hunters greeting "Waidmannsheil" is a brand name used by RWS.
          This is a premium hunting shell with heavy shot load, 36 g or 1 1/4 ounce
          I have one here on my desk, with some changes compared to the pictures above but it is still a cardboard hull.

          I would like to learn about the date code, where is it please?
          What I find peculiar is the primer. " S B P" should stand for Sellier Bellot Praha.
