  • Question..

I'm looking at an old hammer double rifle. The only hint at the cartridge is "67,49", at least I think that's a hint. I never learned how that worked. Any ideas?

    Hello

    Bore diameter.

At proof a plug gauge of 10,41 mm went through, but not one of 10,67 mm. Add rifling.

Thank you Peter. I assume there is a web page with a list and conversion?

        Vic,
There is a listing for rifles and one for shotguns in the 1970 Gun Digest article about German proof marks. The list stops at around 8mm but is still helpful. There is an extended list for smaller calibers that Axel sent out and I believe Raimey has shown it, either here or on Double Gun Forum.

          Hello

I have sent the complete caliber charts from 1892 and 1895 to Mike in an e-mail. It is a Word-file and I was not able to post it in the thread without parts of it not being included. I have copied the caliber No.s from the original documents from 1892 and 1895 into a Word-document. The shotgun chart is not included in my e-mail to Mike. Only the rifle caliber chart(s). I will not post the originals.

          Mike Ford,
I hope you have received my e-mail and are able to open the Word-file.

          Vic,
if you want the chart in Word-document form, PM me your e-mail address.

          Peter
